Ich habe die Abkettlinie modifiziert, damit sie sich nicht wellt.
I modified the cast off-line that it do not ripple.




In der Zwischenzeit habe ich noch ein Paar Socken für meinen Vater gestrickt (als Beifahrer auf unserer Nationalparktour in den USA) und ein zweites Paar angefangen.

Ich bin jetzt auch stolze Besitzerin von zwei wundervollen Golding-Spindeln, von denen ich noch Bilder machen muss. In den Staaten habe ich mir ein paar Strick- und Spinnbücher geleistet und etwas Wolle. Auch hier werde ich noch Bilder einstellen.

In the meantime I finished some socks for my father during our US National Parks trip and started a 2nd one for me in Tofutsie. Great yarn.

And I am the proud owner of two Golding spindles - pictures to come. In the States I bought two knitting and one spinning book, a pattern and a skein of merino sock yarn in a hot pink from Compatto - pictures to come, too.

Moroccan Days & Spinnen dazwischen / Moroccan Days & Spinning in between

Moroccan Days geht langsam aber stetig voran. Am Wochenende War ich mit dem Hinweis von Mystic Light fertig, konnte aber an Moroccan Days nicht weiterstricken, weil ich zwischendrin auf die Idee gekommen bin, die Mittelperle der in rosa Miyukiperlen geplanten Diamanten durch eine größere cremefarbene zu ersetzen. Perlen bestellt und gewartet. Gestern kamen sie dann. Solange hatte ich Days-technisch eine Durststrecke. Was tun? Einen Schlapphut häkeln und spinnen.

Moroccan Days evolves slowly but surely. I finished the 2nd Mystic Light clue last weekend and could not go on with Moroccan Days because last week I had the idea of exchanging the center bead of the pink Miyuki bead diamonds with a bigger cream one. I ordered and the parcel arrived not until yesterday. What did I do in the meantime? Crocheting a hat and some spinning.

Mystic Light KAL 1. Hinweis / 1st clue

Eigentlich wollte ich Moroccan Days NACH dem Mystic Light KAL stricken. Da ich aber datumstechnisch mal wieder total neben mit stand und dachte, dass ML erst ein bisschen später anfängt als er nun wirklich anfing und ich alles für Moroccan Days gerade mit der Post bekommen hatte, startete ich mit Moroccan Days und war geplättet, als ich den ersten Hinweis für Mystic Light sah. Ok, Wolle raus, Nadeln gepackt und los. Die Wolle ist 100 % Merino in einem dunklen Grün und 4-fädig. In der Mitte und am oberen Rand zieht sich ein Zopf entlang. Das Tuch ist nach dem ersten Hinweis schon recht groß. Mal sehen, was daraus wird. Glücklicherweise ist das Tuch von der Designerin so geplant, dass pro Hinweis die ungefähr gleiche Maschenanzahl abgearbeitet werden soll und nicht eine bestimmte Reihenanzahl. Das würde mit zunehmender Weite ziemlich stressig, da ich auch gerne an meinem Moroccan Days noch arbeiten möchte.


Actually I wanted to work on Moroccan Days after the Mystic Light KAL. But I was a bit confused about the starting day postponing it where it should not have been postponed :-~. Hence I started with Moroccan Days and wondered about the appearance of the first Mystic Light clue. Well, I picked up the yarn and the needles and started. The yarn is a 100 % merino in dark green, 4-ply. The shawl has a braid at the upper edge and in the center down to its peak.The finished first part is already really huge. Fortunately each clue is calculated to have approx. the same stitch count and not the same row count. Otherwise I would have to spend more and more time with this project while I want to work at Moroccan Days as well.

Moroccan Days - ich habe die erste Chartsektion abgearbeitet und es hat einfach nur Spaß gemacht. Das Muster... klasse. Die Perlen einarbeiten...klasse. Alles...klasse :-D

Spring Shawl Surprise & Moroccan Days

Der Spring Shawl ist fertig! Ich habe mich wirklich rangehalten und am Ende abends nur noch an diesem Shawl gestrickt oder wieder einmal ein bisschen gesponnen. Das geht für meinen Geschmack jetzt schon ganz gut. Der Faden ist jetzt recht konstant und so dünn wie ein Nähfaden.

An sich war als nächstes der Mystic Light KAL geplant. So lange wollte ich nichts anderes beginnen. Zwischendrin habe ich mir allerdings die Zutaten für den Moroccan Days-Shawl geholt, der nach Mystic Light kommen sollte. Nun, ML fängt erst nächste Woche an, und was soll man über Ostern bei nicht allzu gutem Wetter machen? Also habe ich am Gründonnerstag mit dem Auffädeln der Perlen begonnen. Das ging erstaunlich schnell (ca. 2 Std.). Und am Karfreitag habe ich mit der Perlenborte begonnen. Es geht zwar langsam, aber es macht sehr viel Spaß. Ach ja, ich stricke mit Uru Lace-Wolle und 3mm-Nadeln. Die Perlen sind Miyuki 8/0 in Creme für Rand und Borte und in Carnation Pink für den mittleren Teil (Änderungen vorbehalten :-)).

The Spring Shawl is finished! I tried to get a move on it and finally knitted just on this project and did a little bit of spinning. To my taste I am improving constantly. The single strand is now more or less steadily thick resp. thin as sewing thread.

I planned to take part in the Mystic Light KAL (ML) and would not like to start something else before. But -big error- I bought the material for the Moroccan Days Shawl for my stash and planned to start this after ML. Well, ML starts next week, Spring shawl is finished, Easter wheather is lousy. What else should I do? Resist the new yarn, the wonderful Uru Lace in colours of the sea? Noooo. I strung beads on Maundy Thursday. It took less hours (just around 2) I thought it would take after reading that I had to string 1.660 beads (doing the crochet on beads-method for the center). And I casted on for the bead border on Good Friday. The shawl is going slowly but it is a real pleasure to knit so far. I use 3mm/2.5 US needles and Miyuki 8/0 cream-colour beads for border and edging and carnation pink for the center (subject to alterations :-)).

Placket-Neck Pullover

Ich habe den Placket-Neck Pullover aus Last Minute Knitted Gifts fertig bekommen. Das kleine Teil war richtig schnell und nett zu stricken. Es ist ein Raglan von unten gestrickt und rundgestrickt. Also außer Kitchener Stitch und dem Untertritt am Hals war nicht viel zu nähen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Das Buch empfehle ich gerne, aber nur in Englisch, da die deutsche Übersetzung bei den Teilen, die ich nachgearbeitet habe, wirklich grottenschlecht ist.


I finished the placket-neck pullover from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. The little thing is very cute and a quick knit. It is a bottom-up Raglan in the round. Besides of using Kitchener stitch and sewing the button band there was no more sewing necessary. Highly recommended. I can recommend the book (the English version) as well.
