Lilac Socks - das Ende / The end

...und es endete, bevor es richtig begann. Meine Beine sind zu schmal für Socken die über 68 Maschen gearbeitet werden, trotz Zopfmuster, das sie schmaler werden lässt. Nach einem Musterrapport war es mir schon klar, dass das nichts wird. Schade.

...and it ended just before it really started. My legs are too 'thin' for socks with 68 stitches, although cables should have make them tighter. After one pattern repeat it was clear to me, that this will not fit my leg. What a pity!

Lilac Socks KAL Lilac Socks KAL

Ich konnte einem Socken Knitalong nicht widerstehen - dem Lilac Socks KAL der TownsendSocksKnitALong Gruppe. Ich habe zwar keine reines lila Garn, aber das lila-creme Mosaikgarn von Opal wird wohl durchgehen, oder? Und so habe ich gestern abend, nachdem ich den 2. Hinweis des aktuellen Mystery Shawls fertig hatte, mal schnell das Nadelspiel gezückt und angeschlagen.

I could not resist a sock knitalong - the lilac socks KAL of the TownsendSocksKnitALong group. Although I have no plain lilac yarn in my stash, I think the lilc-cream variegated mosaic yarn by Opal will count, won't it? Hence I fetched my sock needles and casted on for the socks yesterday evening after I had finished the 2nd clue of the current Mystery project.

VLT Spider Net Shawl

Hey, ich komme voran. Am Sonntag habe ich die erste Längsseite geschafft und die erste Ecke umrundet. So etwas über 50% des Shawls sind damit fertig. Die Ecken sind Konzentrationsarbeit und ohne Strichliste für mich nicht zu schaffen. Excel ist sooo toll, schöne Tabellen :-D

Hey, I am working my way through the piece. On Sunday I finished the first long side and worked the edge around the first corner. A little bit more than 50% of the shawl are done. The corner edging requires a lot of concentration I would not manage without a tally. Excel is sooooo cool :-D, nice tables.

One Skein Wonder

Seit langem habe ich auf vielen Seiten immer wieder diesen Mini-Shrug bewundert. Jetzt war die Gier so groß, dass ich mir die Anleitung gekauft habe. Das wird eines der Geburtstagsgeschenke für eine liebe Freundin. Hoffentlich nerve ich meinen Freundeskreis nicht immer mit meinen selbstgemachten Zusatz-Goodies.

Das Teilchen geht sehr leicht von der Hand. Es lässt sich wunderbar nebenher arbeiten. Die Wolle, die ich ausgesucht habe, ist einfach sagenhaft. Es ist Fiocco von Ged*fra. Eine Baumwolle-Synthetik- Mischung mit einem wunderbaren Lichteffekt durch die unterschiedliche Lichtbrechung der verschiedenen Materialien. Ich mag zwar dicke Wolle nicht mehr so sehr -Michelin-Männchen-Effekt, wenn unter Mantel getragen-, aber dieses Garn ist wirklich herrlich im Griff. Und im Sommer muss man hoffentlich keinen Mantel tragen.

For a long time now I admired this mini shrug on many web pages. Now the craving was too large. I bought the pattern. I will make a birthday present for a very dear friend with it.

The piece is an easy pattern, wonderful to knit alongside other more complex pieces. The yarn I choose is marvellous. It is Fiocco from Ged*fra, a cotton-nylon-mix. Due to the different materials the yarn reflects the light in a wonderful way. Although I do not like thick yarn very much anymore - Michelin-manikin-effect when worn under a coat- this yarn is great. And I hope we do not have to wear a coat this summer :-D

Mystery 6 - Clue 1

Mystery-Wolle / Mystery yarn

Ok, das sollte eigentlich Weiß sein ...????.... Ja, das habe ich auch gedacht, als ich die Wolllieferung inspizierte...und feststellte, dass ich die falsche Bestellnummer angegeben hatte. Nun habe ich eine Kone Wolle in einem seltsamen Blau. Ich hätte es mir nie wissentlich gekauft, aber es passt prima zu Jeans. Und da die Kone so herumsteht und nicht zu dem eigentlichen Projekt passt (das auch schon auf unbestimmte Zeit nach hinten verschoben wurde), wird sie in den Mystery Shawl 6 mutieren. Sollte die Farbe am Ende immer noch komisch sein, wird der fertige Shawl einfach gefärbt. Heute geht's los bzw. ich bin schon beim Stricken des ersten Hinweises :-)

Well, this should have been white yarn...???... yes, that what I thought too when I opened my yarn parcel...and discovered that I mixed up order numbers. Now I have a yarn cone in a very strange blue shade. Normally I never would have chosen this colour but, I have to admit that, it goes perfectly with jeans. While the yarn does not go with the originally planned project anymore (postponed to I do not know when) I will use it for the new Mystery Shawl 6. If the colour appears still strange to me in the end I will dye the completed shawl. Today the mystery starts, I am currently knitting the first clue :-)

VLT-Mittelteil fertig / VLT centre finished

Das Mittelteil ist fertig, also 41% der gesamtem Shawl. Selbst ohne Spitzenumrandung, die jetzt noch kommt, würde das schon ein sehr schöner Schal sein.

The centre is finished, 41% of the complete shawl. Even without the yet to come edging it would make a wonderful scarf.
