Lagebericht / Situation report - Frost Flowers & Leaves (FF&L)

Beim FF&L Shawl bin ich an der letzten Wiederholung des Shawlkörpermusters. Leider dauert das alles ein Weilchen, weil es halt über 1.150 Maschen sind, die abgestrickt werden wollen. Und noch einmal leider ist dieses Projekt auch nicht so handlich, dass man es einfach in eine Tasche werfen und in den Park mitnehmen kann. Daher ist der VLT Shawl immer in meinem Rucksack, wenn ich im Park die erste Frühlingssonne genieße.

The FF&L is in his last repeat and then comes the edging. But this will take some time when over 1.150 are on the needles. And the project is not so handy that you can take it with you and knit it in the park. Hence VLT shawl is in my bag when I enjoy the first rays of spring sun in the park.

Kleiner Nachtrag: Sorry für die etwas schlechteren Bilder, aber meine Kamera ist weg. Entweder verloren oder gestohlen. Das ließ sich nicht mehr nachvollziehen. Ingesamt ein teurer Tag im Zoo. Vorläufig muss mein Handy als Bildermacher herhalten.

Small addendum: I apologize for the worse pictures but my camera is gone - lost or stolen. We do not know. All in all a very expensive day at the zoo. Hence my mobile camera has to take the pictures.

Das ist ungefähr die Hälfte des Frost Flowers & Leaves Shawls, die Hälfte, da der Umfang enorm wird. Zur Zeit arbeite ich fast gar nicht daran, aber wenigstens habe ich ein paar Fotos von etwas gemacht, dass hoffentlich einmal sehr schön aussieht.

What you see is nearly half of the Frost Flowers & Leaves shawl. Nearly the half because it seems that the shawl is increasing enormously. Currently I am not working a lot on it but I made some pictures of what is going to be a beauty...I hope .

Und los geht's / Let's rumble

Noch ein Blog zum Thema Stricken und vielleicht noch etwas mehr. Ich stecke gerade mitten in einer Sisyphosarbeit genannt "Frost Flowers & Leaves" (FFL). Das ist ein Spitzentuch aus dem Buch "A Gathering of Lace", welches ich nur empfehlen kann. Nicht alles würde ich tragen, aber man bekommt einen heftigen Eindruck, was alles möglich mit ein paar Stricknadeln.

Ich habe mit FFL am 28.10.06 angefangen. Bisher bin ich zur 3. Wiederholung im 2. Chart gelangt, da viele, viele Weihnachtswünsche zuvor abgearbeitet werden mussten.

Das ist der Anfang. Sieht noch ganz vernünftig aus. Zur Zeit ist das gute Stück aber eher ein unförmiger Sack und total unfotogen. Ich werde dennoch demnächst versuchen, das Schätzchen aufzunehmen.

Just another Blog about knitting and maybe a little bit more. I am just knitting 'Frost Flowers & Leaves' (FFL), a lace shawl from the book 'A Gathering of Lace', highly recommendable. I would not wear everything, but you get an impression about what is possible with a bunch of knitting needles.

I started with FFL on 10-28-06. I am in the middle of the 3rd repeat of the 2nd chart now. A huge production of Xmas presents interrupted this shawl's production.

The picture above shows the beginning part. It looks quite good. By now it looks more like a shapeless pouch, totally un-photogenic. But I will try to make some pictures of my little cutie.
