100% - yippie, der Schal ist fertig, aber noch nicht gespannt. Das kommt morgen oder übermorgen. Also gilt das Projekt noch nicht als abgeschlossen. Ich hätte am Anfang nicht gedacht, dass das klappt neben Arbeit und sonstigem.

100% - yeah, I have finished the scarf but have not blocked it yet. I will do that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Hence the project itself still is not finished. In the beginning of this scarf I never thought that I will finish it during the Olympics while going to work, doing the housework and so on.

87% - ok, heute war ich echt nicht gut. Nur 20 Reihen. Gilt der-Wäsche-beim Rotieren-zuschauen als Ausrede ;-)? Aber morgen....mein freier Tag....ha.

87% - well, I was not on top today. Just 20 rows. Does watching-the-laundry-rotating-in-the-washing-machine count as a valid excuse ;-)? But tomorrow...my day off...banzai.

81,6% - Yeah, ich bin heute, trotzdem ich nicht den ganzen Tag gestrickt habe, recht gut voran gekommen...jedenfalls für mein Empfinden. Sport beflügelt halt, im Fernsehen und wenn man vorher auch etwas getan für den eigenen Luxuskörper :-)

81,6% - yippie, although I have not knitted the whole day through I came quite far in my opinion. Sports inspire - on TV and if you have worked out (to keep my luxurious body and mind in good shape ;-)), too.

68,75% - gibt so etwas wie das zweite Schalhälfte-Syndrom ? Ich habe im Moment keinen Drive. Aber ok, dann muss ich halt gegen Ende Gas geben .... oder ab morgen.

68,75% - is there something similar to the 2nd sock syndrome like the 2nd half of scarf syndrome? If not, I am the first who have that one. Currently I have no verve. Well, I have to improve from tomorrow on.

63,60%...mehr werde ich wohl heute nicht schaffen, denn ich mache mich jetzt ab zu einem Gentleman-Konzert, yeow, man ;-) Da das Ganze erst ab so ca. 22 Uhr losgeht, komme ich wohl vor 0:00 Uhr nicht mehr an die Nadeln. Aber der Perlteil ist ja jetzt abgehakt. Der kostet am meisten Zeit.

63,60%...I will not get done more for today, I think, because I am going to a Gentleman concert this evening. The concert will start around 22 o'clock hence I will not get back on my needles before midnight. Fortunately the bead part is done. This one costs more time than the rest.

55% - diese 5% hätten schneller gehen können, wenn die Frau an den Nadeln die Anleitung richtig gelesen hätte und nicht nach 10 Perlen!!!reihen alles wieder hätte aufribbeln müssen. Da lernt man Geduld :-D

55% - these additional 5% could have been more than the given 5% but the one behind the needles was too stupid to read the instructions correctly. Hence she had to frogg all rows incl. 10 bead rows!!! and start anew. This is a perfect training for patience :-D

Fast 30% (genau 29,78% - ja, bei mir wird alles berechnet und in Charts verpackt :-D) des Schals sind abgearbeitet...mit viel Spaß. Der 3. Stricktag nähert sich dem Ende. Morgen geht es erst abends wieder... und natürlich in der Mittagspause ;-). Meine Kollegen kennen mich als seltsamen Strickmenschen.

Nearly 30% (to be more precise 29,78% - yeah, everything is packed into charts and calculated :-D) of the scarf is done...with a lot of knitting fun. The 3rd knitting day slowly is coming to an end. Tomorrow I will able to knit in the evening the earliest... and of course during lunch break ;-). My colleagues know me as a mad knitter.

Crocus Pocus

Crocus Pocus - wieder eine Anleitung von Susan Pandorf, erreichbar über afewstitchesshort.blogspot.com. Ihre Ideen sind einfach schön umzusetzen. Und jeder hat die Möglichkeit, sie nach seiner Façon zu stricken. Sie konzipiert vieles oder alles mit Perlen, die man aber auch weglassen kann oder nur zum Teil einarbeiten. Der Fantasie sind da keine Grenzen gesetzt. Ich gebe mir immer die volle Dröhnung.

Crocus ist mehr ein Schälchen, sprich kleines Schultertuch. Ich habe dafür Uru Merino Lace in Creme verwendet und davon so ungefähr ein halbes Knäuel (50g, ca. 425m). Dann kamen noch eine Menge Miyuki 8/0-Perlen (so an die 2.500 St.) in verschiedenen Blau-, Türkis- und Grüntönen, Tropfenperlen in Mondstein und Blüten in gelb-grün dazu.

Crocus Pocus - another design by Susan Pandorf. She blogs under afewstitchesshort.blogspot.com. Her ideas are simply beautiful to work with and to look at. And you have a wide range to play with the pattern. She designs a lot or all shawls with beads / pearls. But you can leave out the beads or take them just in certain parts of the pattern you would like to add them to. Or you can omit them completely. I tend to take a full load :-)

Crocus is a shawlette, a small shoulder shawl. I used Uru merino lace in creme, around 50g/425m. I took Miyuki 8/0-Perlen (around 2.500) in various blue, turquoise and green shades, moon stone drop beads and blossom beads in green-yellow.

Spring Shawl Surprise & Moroccan Days

Der Spring Shawl ist fertig! Ich habe mich wirklich rangehalten und am Ende abends nur noch an diesem Shawl gestrickt oder wieder einmal ein bisschen gesponnen. Das geht für meinen Geschmack jetzt schon ganz gut. Der Faden ist jetzt recht konstant und so dünn wie ein Nähfaden.

An sich war als nächstes der Mystic Light KAL geplant. So lange wollte ich nichts anderes beginnen. Zwischendrin habe ich mir allerdings die Zutaten für den Moroccan Days-Shawl geholt, der nach Mystic Light kommen sollte. Nun, ML fängt erst nächste Woche an, und was soll man über Ostern bei nicht allzu gutem Wetter machen? Also habe ich am Gründonnerstag mit dem Auffädeln der Perlen begonnen. Das ging erstaunlich schnell (ca. 2 Std.). Und am Karfreitag habe ich mit der Perlenborte begonnen. Es geht zwar langsam, aber es macht sehr viel Spaß. Ach ja, ich stricke mit Uru Lace-Wolle und 3mm-Nadeln. Die Perlen sind Miyuki 8/0 in Creme für Rand und Borte und in Carnation Pink für den mittleren Teil (Änderungen vorbehalten :-)).

The Spring Shawl is finished! I tried to get a move on it and finally knitted just on this project and did a little bit of spinning. To my taste I am improving constantly. The single strand is now more or less steadily thick resp. thin as sewing thread.

I planned to take part in the Mystic Light KAL (ML) and would not like to start something else before. But -big error- I bought the material for the Moroccan Days Shawl for my stash and planned to start this after ML. Well, ML starts next week, Spring shawl is finished, Easter wheather is lousy. What else should I do? Resist the new yarn, the wonderful Uru Lace in colours of the sea? Noooo. I strung beads on Maundy Thursday. It took less hours (just around 2) I thought it would take after reading that I had to string 1.660 beads (doing the crochet on beads-method for the center). And I casted on for the bead border on Good Friday. The shawl is going slowly but it is a real pleasure to knit so far. I use 3mm/2.5 US needles and Miyuki 8/0 cream-colour beads for border and edging and carnation pink for the center (subject to alterations :-)).
