Update nach langer Zeit / Update after a long period

So, im November das letzte Mal gepostet. Faul, oder? Hier ist in Kurzform, was so alles in der Zwischenzeit entstanden ist.

Sorry für die teilweise schlechteren Bilder, aber meine Kamera hat das Zeitliche gesegnet und ich warte auf die perfekte Neue. Ich war mit den Tests der aktuellen nicht glücklich. Daher Bilder mit dem Handy.

Well, I posted last time in November 2008. Lazy gal! Here a crisp overview what went off the needles since then.

Sorry for most of the not so good / sharp pictures but my camera died and I was not satisfied with the outcome of some of the new models I tested. So I am still waiting for the perfect new camera. Since then, mobile pictures.

Heroine - Twist Collective

- aus Lodenwolle von Wolle Halle, filzt super, allerdings aufpassen, die Kragenteile schrumpfen unterschiedlich. Sofort nach dem Waschen kräftig zurecht ziehen.
- made from Loden yarn from Wolle Halle. Felts wonderful. But be careful, the collar/ edging parts felt differently so after the felting process you have to pull really hard on that parts to get them in a more or less similar looking length/shape.

Lacy Little Top - LanaKnits

- aus der Originalwolle Allhemp3; trotz korrekter Maschenprobe und strickens auf schmaleren Nadeln im Oberteil, das Stück ist riesig - und das bei Größe S - Keine Ahnung, warum das bei mir so groß ist.
- made from Allhemp3. I do not know why but the pieces is huuuuuge although my gauge swatch was correct and I switched to even smaller needles for the top part -for size S-!!!




Crisp - Wendy Bernard

- aus Lana Grossa Cool Wool, die Wolle, die mich zum Wahnsinn treibt, auch wenn sie wunderbar ist. Ich hatte aus dieser Wolle, die bei mir schon seit Ewigkeiten liegt und an der schon ein paar Motten genagt hatten, Skinny Empire aus Wendy Bernards 'Custom Knits'-Buch gemacht. Perfekt. Da das Garn durch vorheriges Ribbeln kräuselig war, musste ich es waschen. Auf dem Garn steht 'nicht filzend', 30°...ich habe die 2 mikroskopisch kleinen Striche unter dem Waschzeichen übersehen, die Spezial- sprich Wollwaschgang bedeuten. Nun, ich besitze jetzt ein wunderbar gefilztes Minipullöverchen.
Jetzt habe ich aus den Resten, die ich schon wegwerfen wollte, weil ich sie nicht mehr sehen konnte, diesen Pullunder gemacht.
- made from Lana Grossa Cool Wool, the yarn that -although really wonderful- drives me nuts. I made Skinny Empire - from Wendy Bernard's 'Custom Knits' -. It was perfect, it fitted, I was happy. The yarn was in parts very curly because I had ribbed it a dozen times before with other projects. So I washed it. The instruction said 30°, non-feltable. I disregarded the two tiny, microscopic small lines below the degree sign. Outcome: The most wonderful felted small sweater no one can ever wear. It felted so wonderful like you wish it would with the things you like to felt but never get this result.
I thought of throwing away the remaining yarn. It was only a little bit. But then I saw Crisp and used Cool Wool for this pattern - beeing careful with washing :-D -.




Mr. Greenjeans - Knitty

- aus Vorratswolle, die locker 20 Jahre alt ist, 100% feinstes Acryl :-D, aber die Farben sind super. Die Jacke trägt sich prima.
- made from stash yarn at least 20 years old, 100% the most exquisite acryl ;-) But I love the colours and the cardi is really nice to wear.




Lion-Neck Cradigan - Wendy Bernard 'Custom Knits'

- Und wieder Vorratsgarn - Lana Grossa Fumo aus einer alten aufgeribbelten Jacke, die ich nicht mehr tragen wollte. Die Jacke ist superleicht, max. 300 gr., wenn überhaupt, und ich habe immer noch viele Reste von der alten Jacke.
- again stash yarn - Lana Grossa Funo from an old cardi I did not like to wear anymore. The cardigan is so light-weighted, max. 300 gr., and I still have a fair amount left from the old cardi.






Mina's Tuxedo Vest - Wendy Bernard 'Custom Knits'

- Und wieder Restgarn, keine Ahnung, wie alt, woher und damals wofür. Die Weste ist spitze.

Wrenna - 'French Girl Knits'

- Lana Gross Dasolo Stripes, 3 !!!! Knäuel, die ich vom Ehemann meiner verstorbenen Freundin aus ihrem Wollvorrat erhalten habe (zusammen mit 10 weiteren Dasolo-Knäuel in einer anderen Farbe). Die Farben sind so toll. Ich wollte etwas besonderes davon machen. Normalerweise langen 3 Knäuel dann doch nur für einen Schal o.ä., aber dann kam Wrenna! Ich habe die Wolle wirklich bis zu den letzte 5 cm aufgebraucht.
- Lana Gross Dasolo Stripes, 3 !!!! balls. I got this yarn from the hubbby of my dear departed friend together with 10 more balls of the same yarn in another colourway. I thought to make something special from them. But 3 balls are merely for a scarf, hat or so...until I found Wrenna. I used up everything till the last 5 cm of yarn.




Whisper Cardigan - IWK Spring 2009

- Mille Fili (reine Baumwolle) - Wolle Rödel, Wollvorrat. Ich will meinen Vorrat etwas reduzieren :-) Geniale kleine Jacke und super aus Mille Fili. Ich habe die Nadelstärke 3,5mm statt 4,5mm für den Hauptteil verwendet, 3mm für das Bündchen und 2,5mm für den Mittelpart.
- Mille Fili (pure cotton) - Wolle Rödel, stash. I try to knit from stash :-) Ingenious little cardi and absolutely perfect with Mille Fili. I reduced needle size to 3,5mm from 4,5mm for the main part, used 3mm for ribbing and 2,5mm for the middle 'seam'.

Rock Manie / Skirt mania - Indigo Ripples Skirt No. 2

Ok, ich gebe es zu - ich habe einen Tick. Ich bin im Rockfieber. Nachdem ich für mich ausgepuzzelt habe, wie ich mit meinem aktuellen Lieblingsgarn (für Röcke) meine Maße am Besten hinbekomme, bräuchte ich unzählige Paar Hände um alle Röcke zu stricken, die ich möchte. Na ja, es sind nur noch 2 1/2. Einer ist nach meinen Vorstellungen in der Mache, Garnpakete für zwei weitere liegen auf Halde. Hier ist nun mein 2. Indigo Ripples.

• Garn: Junghans Harmonie (100 m / 50 g)
• Menge: 6 Knäuel
• Nadeln: 3,5 mm für den gesamten Rock

Änderungen:

• Garn + Nadelstärke (kein Schrumpffaktor, da kein Jeansgarn)
• Verlängerung des glatten Teils auf 38 cm/15 inches
• Spitzenteil verkürzt auf 40 Reihen
• Taillenband gehäkelt statt I-Cord

Ok, I have to confess that I am in a craze - a skirt craze. After I puzzled out how to adapt the basic skirt pattern I like to my measurements with my favorite yarn, I would need a thousand hands to knit all the skirt stuff I want :-) Well, actually there are 2 1/2. I have knit 1/2 of an own design and there are two yarn packages in my stash for two more skirts. And here it is - the Indigo Ripples:

• Yarn: Junghans Harmonie (100 m / 50 g)
• Amount: 6 balls
• Needles: 3,5 mm
  

Changes:

• Yarn + needle size (no shrinkage because the yarn is not a jeans yarn)
• Lengthening of the stockinette part to 18 cm / 15 inches
• Shortening of the lace part to 40 rows
• Crochet drawstring instead of I-Cord

Wave Skirt II

So, hier noch zwei Aufnahmen meines fertiggestellen Wave Skirts und ein paar Details.

Borkum - Wolle Rödel
7 Knäuel /balls

Nadelstärke / needle size:
3,5 mm / US 4 - für den glatten Part / for the stockinette part
4,00 mm / US 6 für den Spitzenteil / for the lace section

Ich habe den rechte-Maschen-Teil verlängert und mit dem Spitzenteil erst ab dem Muster 2 der Anleitung begonnen. Die Verteilung der Muster im Feather-und-Fan-Bereich habe ich umberechnet.
I lengthened the stockinette part and started the lace section from the 2nd feather & fan pattern on. I rearranged the feather and fan lace part.

Wave skirt

Hier ist eine erste Aufnahme meines Cat Coyle Wave Skirts. Wieder in Wolle Rödel Borkum und wieder auf mich angepasst, d.h. Form des glatten Teils verändert und verlängert und Spitzenteil an diese Maße angepasst. Das ganze Teil in 10 Tage dank Fußball-EM. Denn bei spannenden Spielen stricke ich blind rechts superschnell in der Runde :-D


Here a first impression of my Cat Coyle Wave Skirt. Again done in Wolle Rödel Borkum and also again fit to my taste. Means I lengthened and modified the stockinette part and adapted the lace to it. The whole project done in 10 days because of Eurpean Football Championships. If I watch a thrilling game I knit with lightning speed :-D.

Show-Off Ruffle Skirt - Update 02

Der Rock macht Fortschritte, besser gesagt, machte, denn ich bin seit einer Woche nicht zum Stricken an diesem Stück gekommen...leider :-(. Nachdem die endlosen Reihen an Gnubbeln fertig waren, kam das Aufribbeln dran. Auch so ein Thema, wenn man den Rock mit Wolle statt mit Baumwolle macht. Die Fasern verhaken sich und man muss alles fein säuberlich mit der Hand nach unten ribbeln. Das war einige Stunden Arbeit. Dann ging es los mit dem eigentlichen Rockteil. Das ging sehr zügig. Der Teil, wo die Abnahmen beginnen, wird dann wieder tricky, denn man kann nicht mehr so einfach blind stricken, da die Rippen nicht mehr gleich verteilt sind. Werde mich später, solange es noch hell ist (schwarze Wolle im Dunklen!!!), daran setzen.

The skirt progresses! Better to say it progressed. I was not able to work on it for one weak now. After finishing the endless bobble rows the frogging started which costed a lot of time. I used wool and not cotton or. And the single strands of yarn got caught so I had to loosen each row manually. Then the skirt part started. It was easy knitting until the decrease section. From now on I have to concentrate on the ribbing because it is alternating. No more blind knitting except I count all the time. Today I will grab the piece and work on it.

Indigo Ripples Rock / Indigo Ripples Skirt

Mein Indigo Ripples Rock ist schon lange fertig, aber mit Sommer war es dann wohl nichts mehr, um ihn zu tragen :-(. Er passt prima und die Ausführung gefällt mir wirklich gut. Hätte nie gedacht, dass ich mir einmal einen Rock stricken würde. Jedenfalls habe ich Feuer gefangen. Jedem, der auch mit Jeansgarn einen Rock oder etwas anderes stricken möchte, kann ich nur empfehlen, eine Maschenprobe zu machen und sie zu waschen. Der Schrumpffaktor ist erheblich.

The Indigo Ripples Skirt is long done, but summer around here was not really summer. The skirt fits fantastic and now it is too cold to wear it :-(. Never thought I woud knit myself a skirt. But now I love it and got hooked, more to come, I guess. To everyone who would like to knit something (maybe the same skirt) with denim yarn, I highly recommend to make a gauge swatch and wash it. Shrinkage test.

Montego Bay Schal / Scarf

So, hier der Montego Bay Schal aus Interweave Knits Summer 2007.
Material: Debbie Bliss Pure Silk, 2 Stränge
Änderungen: Da die Seide dicker als die Originalwolle ist, habe ich weniger Maschen aufgenommen und auch in der Länge stark gekürzt, da ich eher kurz bin :-D

Modifications: Due to Debbie Bliss Pure Silk being thicker than the original yarn recommendation I casted on fewer stitches and I shortened the scarf, because I am not a tall person.
