Ich bin begeistert von diesem Teil! Und da ich beim Sport etwas brauche, dass beim Stretchen die Schultern wärmt, aber lange Jacken nicht mag, was lag da näher, als noch einmal ein OSW zu stricken...sporttauglich aus Bambus und Baumwolle. Wolle-R*del macht's möglich. Wieder eine Garnempfehlung: Panda, 75m / 50g, Nd.5-6, 70% Bambus/30% Baumwolle. Das Garn ist sehr, sehr weich im Griff und angenehm kühl. Über die Farbpalette lässt sich, wie immer, bei Wolle-R*del streiten, aber ein paar brauchbare Farben sind dabei.

I am excited with this pattern! Since I need something for my shoulders to stay warm while stretching after running and cycling, what speaks against doing another OSW...suitable for sports with bamboo and cotton yarn. Wolle-R*del makes it possible. Just another yarn recommendation: Panda, 75m / 50g, Nd.5-6 / 8-10 US, 70% Bamboo/30% Cotton. The yarn is soooo soft and slightly cool. The colour palette is discussible but a couple of shades are useful.

One Skein Wonder

Seit langem habe ich auf vielen Seiten immer wieder diesen Mini-Shrug bewundert. Jetzt war die Gier so groß, dass ich mir die Anleitung gekauft habe. Das wird eines der Geburtstagsgeschenke für eine liebe Freundin. Hoffentlich nerve ich meinen Freundeskreis nicht immer mit meinen selbstgemachten Zusatz-Goodies.

Das Teilchen geht sehr leicht von der Hand. Es lässt sich wunderbar nebenher arbeiten. Die Wolle, die ich ausgesucht habe, ist einfach sagenhaft. Es ist Fiocco von Ged*fra. Eine Baumwolle-Synthetik- Mischung mit einem wunderbaren Lichteffekt durch die unterschiedliche Lichtbrechung der verschiedenen Materialien. Ich mag zwar dicke Wolle nicht mehr so sehr -Michelin-Männchen-Effekt, wenn unter Mantel getragen-, aber dieses Garn ist wirklich herrlich im Griff. Und im Sommer muss man hoffentlich keinen Mantel tragen.

For a long time now I admired this mini shrug on many web pages. Now the craving was too large. I bought the pattern. I will make a birthday present for a very dear friend with it.

The piece is an easy pattern, wonderful to knit alongside other more complex pieces. The yarn I choose is marvellous. It is Fiocco from Ged*fra, a cotton-nylon-mix. Due to the different materials the yarn reflects the light in a wonderful way. Although I do not like thick yarn very much anymore - Michelin-manikin-effect when worn under a coat- this yarn is great. And I hope we do not have to wear a coat this summer :-D

Bild zum Gnubbel-Bolero / Picture of the bobble bolero

Und hier ein erstes eigenes Bild des werdenden Boleros. Ich hatte mit einer Baby-Viskose-Wolle begonnen und festgestellt, dass das alles zu 'fett' und polsterig wird. Trotzdem die Wolle eine halbe Nadelstärke unter der Originalwolle lag, und trotzdem ich das Teil eine halbe Nadelstärke höher als die Anleitung es verlangte strickte (da dann die Maschenprobe stimmte), sah ich mich schon als sommerliches Michelin-Männchen herumrennen. Also nach endlosen Gnubbelreihen alles wieder aufribbeln .

Die Bolero-Originalwolle ist von Lang Yarns und heißt Kira. Es ist ein Viskose-Mischgarn in Schlauchstrick, dass sehr leicht ist und wohl sehr schön fällt. Leider waren die Farben der Originalwolle nicht so mein Fall (für mich alle zu graustichig-blass-pudrig, passt nicht zu meiner Hautfarbe), also musste wieder eine passende Alternative her. Ich entschied mich für ein dünneres Baumwollgarn und stricke es mit der in der Anleitung vorgeschriebenen Nadelstärke. Bis jetzt sieht es erfolgversprechend aus. Jedem, der dieses Jäckchen eventuell nacharbeiten will, kann ich nur empfehlen: Übe Dich in Geduld, denn eine Noppenreihe braucht ZEIT und Gelenkschmalz. Aber es sieht toll aus... für meinen Geschmack .

A first picture of the bobble bolero. I started the piece with real nice baby- viscose-yarn. After a couple of rows (of course a lot of bobbles) I decided to rib the whole stuff because it seems so voluminous that I saw myself walking as a summerly Michelin manikin. Although the recommended needle size for the yarn was half a size below the original instruction's and I knitted it with larger needles due to the gauge swatch, it was not working .

The original yarn is from Lang Yarns and called Kira. It is a viscose mixture tube yarn which is very light with a nice 'drape'. Unfortunately the colour range ist not mine. Colours are too greyish and pale for my skin colour, hence I needed and alternative. I took a thinner cotton yarn and knit it with the original recommended needle size. It looks promising. A small comment for everybody who likes to work this bolero: Be patient - a bobble row requires some TIME and some 'joint lard'. But the outcome is nice...my taste .

Bolero für den Sommer... braucht auch so lange / A shrug for summer...and I will need that time

***Ich habe das Bolero-Bild herausgenommen, da in Deutschland wohl mal wieder'ne Abmahnwelle rollt und diesesmal auch private Blogs nicht verschont werden. Ich werde wohl doch nur Bildmaterial einstellen, dass definitiv von mir stammt. Also keine Vorschaubilder für Projekte ***

Ich wollte dieses Spitzen-Knubbel-Teil seit ich es das erste Mal in der aktuellen Sabrina Strick-Trends gesehen habe. Nur die Wolle...die Farbe sieht im Heft toll aus. Als ich dann aber eine Farbtabelle im Web gesehen habe, kam sie mir zu blass für mich vor. Jetzt musste irgendwie eine Alternative her. Solange ich am Mystery 5 strickte kam aber etwas neues nicht in Frage. Ich tanze eh schon auf zu vielen Hochzeiten. Aber das Mystery-Tuch ist fertig. Ein Bild vom letzten Hinweis kommt demnächst, Restbilder noch später (Kamera gerade mit Ehemann unterwegs). Außerdem muss ich diesen Shawl als auch Rosy Fingered Dawn noch blocken...grrr, ich mag das nicht.

Ein Teil fertig, das geht doch nicht. Da muss doch sofort wieder etwas Neues auf die Nadeln, damit man immer genügend Druck hat. Heute morgen sofort Wolle bei Wolle-Rödel erstanden. Ein Viskosemix in einem ganz hellen Flieder-/Blauton.

Der Bolero ist jedenfalls auch wieder Geduldssache...und eine Kraftübung für die Gelenke. Für eine superlange Reihe Knubbel brauchte ich fast 2 Stunden. Auch wenn das Teil nicht lang wird, werde ich wohl eine Weile dafür brauchen, alleine um meine Gelenke zu schonen .

I wanted this lace-bobble-thingy since I caught a first glance on it in the new Sabrina Strick-Trends (a German knitting magazine). The problem was the yarn. It looked nice to me in the magazine but I saw it in a colour card on the web and it looked too pale for me. So I needed an alternative. As long as I was knitting on the Mystery 5 shawl I did not want to start something new (too many things in work are plain stress - no feeling of success in finishing up a thing). But now the Mystery is over. One picture of the last clue will follow soon, pictures of the unblocked thing later (camera is on a trip with hubbie). And besides that I have to dress the Mystery and the Rosy Fingered Dawn ...do not like this.

One piece finished ! But that is not possible. I have to get something new on my needles just to keep the pressure at the correct level. So I went to Wolle-Rödel this morning and bought a viscose mix in a real light lilac/blue nuance.

Anyhow the shrug is a piece of patience...and a torture for the ankles. It took me around 2 hours to finish one super long bobble row. Although the piece will not be long, I think it will take some time to finish it when I want to take care of my joints.
