UFO Sommer 06 / summer 06

Letztes Jahr wanderte er in den "Ich habe keine Lust/Zeit mehr"-Korb, ein sehr schnell zu strickender Sommerpulli aus einem, ich glaube, Sabrina-Sonderheft. Als so-mal-Zwischendrin geplant, wurde er überrollt bzw. überstrickt von der Mystery Stole 2, dem Alcázar Shawl, einem selbstentworfenen Shrug, usw. Da die Tage jetzt wieder wärmer werden, dachte ich mir, nimm' das Teil und mache es endlich fertig. Geht doch ganz schnell. Und es ging schnell :-) Jetzt muss er nur noch getragen werden.

Last year he went into the "I definitely do not want to knit that / have the time now" basket, a fast knit shirt from a German magazine. A once planned in-between-knitting it was overrun resp. overknitted by Mystery Stole 2, the Alcázar Shawl, a self-designed Shrug and so on. Now that the days are getting warmer I thought take the piece and finish it off. It will not take long. And so it was :-) Now the garment is waiting to be worn.

Mystery 6 - Clue 3

Der 'Kern' des Shetlandtuches ist geschafft. Beim Stricken sah es erst so aus, als wäre Hinweis 3 nur eine Fortsetzung von Hinweis 2. Falsch gesehen :-D Beim provisorischen Spannen für das Foto kam das Muster richtig schön heraus. Ich bin gespannt, wie das Muster für die Randbordüre wird.

The 'heart' of the Shetland shawl is done. While knitting I thought that clue 3 is a mere continuation of clue 2. Thought wrong :-D The pattern evolved beautifully and different in every clue after provisional blocking the piece. I am curiuos what the border pattern will look like.

One Skein Wonder zum Zweiten / One Skein Wonder going twice

Ich bin begeistert von diesem Teil! Und da ich beim Sport etwas brauche, dass beim Stretchen die Schultern wärmt, aber lange Jacken nicht mag, was lag da näher, als noch einmal ein OSW zu stricken...sporttauglich aus Bambus und Baumwolle. Wolle-R*del macht's möglich. Wieder eine Garnempfehlung: Panda, 75m / 50g, Nd.5-6, 70% Bambus/30% Baumwolle. Das Garn ist sehr, sehr weich im Griff und angenehm kühl. Über die Farbpalette lässt sich, wie immer, bei Wolle-R*del streiten, aber ein paar brauchbare Farben sind dabei.

I am excited with this pattern! Since I need something for my shoulders to stay warm while stretching after running and cycling, what speaks against doing another OSW...suitable for sports with bamboo and cotton yarn. Wolle-R*del makes it possible. Just another yarn recommendation: Panda, 75m / 50g, Nd.5-6 / 8-10 US, 70% Bamboo/30% Cotton. The yarn is soooo soft and slightly cool. The colour palette is discussible but a couple of shades are useful.

Lilac Socks - das Ende / The end

...und es endete, bevor es richtig begann. Meine Beine sind zu schmal für Socken die über 68 Maschen gearbeitet werden, trotz Zopfmuster, das sie schmaler werden lässt. Nach einem Musterrapport war es mir schon klar, dass das nichts wird. Schade.

...and it ended just before it really started. My legs are too 'thin' for socks with 68 stitches, although cables should have make them tighter. After one pattern repeat it was clear to me, that this will not fit my leg. What a pity!

Lilac Socks KAL Lilac Socks KAL

Ich konnte einem Socken Knitalong nicht widerstehen - dem Lilac Socks KAL der TownsendSocksKnitALong Gruppe. Ich habe zwar keine reines lila Garn, aber das lila-creme Mosaikgarn von Opal wird wohl durchgehen, oder? Und so habe ich gestern abend, nachdem ich den 2. Hinweis des aktuellen Mystery Shawls fertig hatte, mal schnell das Nadelspiel gezückt und angeschlagen.

I could not resist a sock knitalong - the lilac socks KAL of the TownsendSocksKnitALong group. Although I have no plain lilac yarn in my stash, I think the lilc-cream variegated mosaic yarn by Opal will count, won't it? Hence I fetched my sock needles and casted on for the socks yesterday evening after I had finished the 2nd clue of the current Mystery project.

VLT Spider Net Shawl

Hey, ich komme voran. Am Sonntag habe ich die erste Längsseite geschafft und die erste Ecke umrundet. So etwas über 50% des Shawls sind damit fertig. Die Ecken sind Konzentrationsarbeit und ohne Strichliste für mich nicht zu schaffen. Excel ist sooo toll, schöne Tabellen :-D

Hey, I am working my way through the piece. On Sunday I finished the first long side and worked the edge around the first corner. A little bit more than 50% of the shawl are done. The corner edging requires a lot of concentration I would not manage without a tally. Excel is sooooo cool :-D, nice tables.
